The History Preservation Committee of St. Thomas UCC and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) hosted a special celebration on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
The local chapter of the DAR thoroughly researched the cemetery and found nine documented patriots of the revolutionary war: – Daniel Ream, Thomas Lingle, Peter Felty, George Fiesser, Philippus Heckert, Francis Wenrich, Henry Fitting, Johann Jacob Blanck, and Casper Bucher. The DAR presented a beautiful bronze plaque which is located in the cemetery, honoring these nine patriots.
There were local and state officials in attendance, along with many daughters, and a multitude of descendants of the patriots coming from all over the country.
We are honored to have been able to host and be a part of this wonderful celebration.
St. Thomas has been part of the community for more than 250 years. So while this is a church with history, St. Thomas is also interested in what’s happening now–and in what’s on the horizon.
